Thanks to the kindness of another Madder, I've finally got a proper cattle truck like I've been after for a while. Basically, the deal was that he had 2 un-made IP kits which he sent me. I get to build them both, one of them goes back to him and I get to keep the other - ding dang do - what a great place this forum is .

This is basically what you get in the kit .......... looks a little bit daunting .

But after a couple of hours careful work you should end up with something like this ..........

I really rate IP's kits as far as the bodywork is concerned, but I've found real issues with their running gear. So this wagon has been fitted with Accucraft wheels, axle boxes and couplings. The result is it runs really well.

Cattle load by Schleich.

I've also added some extra bodywork under the ends of the roof. The way IP had it didn't look right (see previous pic).

Fits in with the Accucraft W&L stock dimensions quite well.

Also fits my cattle dock .

A few little jobs to do before it goes into the paint shops. Then I better start on No.2 .

Market day train runs through Gooey town.

I think there's every chance that I'll be buying some more of these trucks .

More visitors today. Keith (Flying Signalman) plus Pauline and little Poppy the dog, and Gareth (Gscale Madeley). Gareth bought his Caledonia, but she didn't like one of the WGLR's bends with a point on it unfortunately. However, both Keith and Gareth bought a U class a piece - so the only answer was ............ double header!!

Hauling Gareth's IOM carriages through the narrows.

yb281 Mar 25 2009, 06:55 PM

Carefully crossing the road.

yb281 Mar 25 2009, 06:57 PM

Later they were rostered on to a goods service made up of my Accucraft wagons. Keiths loco has the smoke arrester, Gareth's the straight stack.

Shot in a million .............. the suns shining .

yb281 Mar 25 2009, 06:59 PM

Eventually they needed some service, so it was off to Wetton depot.

The goods service was taken over by Gareth's brilliant tram loco built on a Playmobil chassis.
