Hiya Ricky. The tarp on the tractor is an old hankerchief soaked in diluted PVA. The tarp on the narrow gauge wagon is made some stuff called Solartex which is normally used for covering RC model aircraft.

Managed to get the goods platform roof painted yesterday and, now the paint has dried, have just "planted" it.

Great job Mel, from the photo you've captured that Victorian cast iron column look brilliantly; if the sockets are a bit oversize I certainly couldn't tell.

On another subject, I've been trying to source a more British (and Australian) looking smoke box door for my US style Bachmann 2-4-2T - did you buy yours from one of the traders, or did you make it yourself? - all I seem to be able to find available is GRS G3 stuff, which might be a bit big.....

Sorry Steve, for some reason the forum decided not to inform me of your post. Yes the smokebox door on my Baldwin is from GRS - they do narrow gauge loco sizes too. Listed on their site under "general parts", part No. DG133 is 33mm dia, DG134 is 38mm dia.
 
Anyway, it's been all go here today.

First off, I've been doing a bit more to the LGB standard gauge black pudding. Still plenty of jobs to do (like brake gear - yuk), but it's nice to have a long term project that can be dipped in and out of when the weather's playing up.

The staff at the interchange were hoping for a quiet bank holiday, but the early morning goods turned up with an urgent cargo - a van full of Easter eggs!!

Meanwhile, down on the farm, another bunch of new arrivals - the latest release from Schleich, a small flock of Shropshire sheep. Just the very thing for the Wetton Valley.

Mel - for the brake gear I found you can modify (sorry, cut right off) the brake gear from an LGB articulated truck and superglue to the new chassis allowing clearance for the wheels to turn. If you were so inclined you could drill out the rivets and link the pairs together, and do a representation of the linkages - I didn't bother!

Great pic's Mel do like your BP tanker :thumbup: Hope it's full so you have your supply if theres a tanker strike :laugh:
