As a newby I thought I might display some items I made that were not commercially available......
First up: Flora.
Layout July 2017 066.JPG
Made of matt board card and home-milled timber and powered by my favorite power-source - a motor block. Lettered for my outdoor layout - the Daffodil & Geranium Tramway. The face is made of air-dried clay with the accessories mainly being bits and pieces of pens/plastic stuff.Layout July 2017 068.JPG

What motor block do you use?

I use USA Trains motor blocks.
Here is a link to one suppler in your area.

The blocks do need to be re-wired, as they come ready for just the plug in connector/s from the loco that they are intended for. As I use them in a stand-alone mode some re-wring is required. I can open one up and show you... it is quite easy - and if I can do it, anyone can.
Cheers from Australia

Well, the prototype is actually Take n Play.
And the decision to make it was really based on the fact that it was essentially square and thus easy to make.
I made a Toby as well at the time as he was not available commercially.
Toby is made mainly from card board and home-milled timbers, and is powered by an LGB motor block 20040 with plastic coupling/side rods made from Popsicle/icy-pole sticks.

The piece of card shown is used as an un-coupler. Place it between the couplers and it moves the 'hooks' down and you can separate the rolling stock quite easily.
