Thanks both. It's always great to get feedback - both good and bad.
Do we make these videos for children, or for ourselves? Probably the latter, but if children like 'em it's a real bonus.
We had planned to make this video for last Christmas and had agreed a date to start filming, but it never got done. If you want to know why then have a look at Thomas to the Rescue.

Well spotted. I couldn't resist this explosive combination when making up the train that was heading for disaster.

There are quite a few wartime stories of both tanker trains and ammo trains coming to grief.

Our local one, when I lived in Surrey, was a tanker train at Shalford - covered in the Middleton Press book(s)

I sometimes help run a vintage Hornby and Bassett-Lowke O gauge layout at exhibitions. Usually at some point we run an 0-6-0 tank with one of these directly behind.

That is followed by as many petrol tankers as we can find then just before the brake van we have this.

Sometimes it is noticed.

Thanks Jon. Although this was a long time in the planning in the end we had very little time to get the filming and editing done so we made it simple, and I think it benefitted from it and made it much more like the original stories I read as a young boy.

New heights reached yet again, both in videography as regards camera angles and the wonderful night scenes, and scariness with the already referred to petrol tankers and gunpowder van.
