The SHLR - A very small Garden Railway in Shropshire

I thought I should put up a new SHLR thread on here, as the railway may all be getting lifted this weekend (we're looking to move house). It is a genuinely small railway in a small garden but have given me years of enjoyment.

Lets start with a few early ones from 2006

SHLR stands for Stanworth Heath Light Railway, Stanworth is wifey's maiden name and I thought naming the line after her might score brownie points so I could expand in the future. I was wrong

Now for some reason I don't have a single piccy from 2007 (must have been a bad running year weather-wise). So here we have a frosty February 2008.

You may have noticed that Stanworth Station is now in its MKII manifestation.

Oct 08 saw the arrival of some new coaching stock from Lytham

Swiftly followed by the arrival of a new loco from Mr Trackshack to go with them.

(The loco has recently been sold to fund a recent conversion over to Digital).

25 December 08 - Santa Special

Van laid on for pushchairs etc.

and the big man himself.

The 2008 festive season saw a flurry of spending on the railway.

Wifey procured a new Loco and Brake Van

Then for my birthday in Jan 09 she added a flat wagon for my maintenance train.

So early Jan 09 was a busy period. Good weather meant that I could get some running in, but not before the maintenance crews had done a track inspection.

Inspection completed the maintenance stock is returned to the sidings.
