Shades of Ned Kelly,
Indeed, large chunks of track are missing and have been placed in the tramway workshops for re work. I seem to remember Mick Jagger ripping up some lengths of rail on the Captains Flat branch line in 1970 which stopped as I recall 1743 getting to Captains Flat, why it was there I?ll never know Ned Kelly ripped up a couple of lengths of track on the broad gauge just past Glenrowan?.. Oh well Cest la vie?
This track has been removed to allow it to be a) realigned and b) allow the insertion of a set of points to allow cars toactually get into the depot, or ?car barn? if you?re beyond the blue horizon. Don?t hold your breath waiting for the Depotbuilding; it?s some time off?..
I have also been adjusting the gauge of the track on sharp bends (some will say they are all sharp) so that the rails areslightly further apart allowing longer wheelbase cars to get around the corners without climbing over the rail. I developedspecial automatic apparatus to do the measurements and place the rail in the right spot for me. I?m trying to recoup thecosts of this investment by selling similar units on eBay viz:

Like all good ideas this is simplicity itself.
I should have taken pictures of the process but as it was I needed 6 pairs of hands?. I did make one interestingdiscovery; the check rail I installed on one sharp curve was causing the derailments so it?s been spaced further away fromthe running rail?.
The final set of points that were indeed the first set I made have been modified so that the moving blade can be set todirect to left or right, it will be used until I can get the 3 way points to work.
