This is just a picture record of the trams running at the Nordhousen end of the HSB. They are 'Duo' trams, being diesel powered on the HSB and electric over head on the Nordhousen tramways.

Hmm, the streets and platforms look depressingly empty. Looks like most of the Ossies have moved to the West. The last one to leave please turn off the lights!
There are a lot of railcars on the HSB of various ages, but I am not aware of older trams at Nordhousen.

These were at their depot in August 2012, so I'm assuming they are still there.
Only had the briefest of time there as I was en route down to Dresden from Hannover by train. Was the first time I had been to Nordhausen since October 1981, so the place had changed rather a lot!
A couple of Gotha cars, one of which appears to be a mobile Bistro car "Partywagen" (1958 yellow car & 1965 partywagen build dates respectively)
and a more historic vehicle - built by Wismar in 1934
Not easy to get decent photos, particularly when building work was underway there and I was viewing it from the other side of the depot fence.
I was delighted to see the trams proceeding with the pantographs down and no overheads. Gives the perfect excuse for my outdoor layout where overheads are impractical! Thank you.
I prefer my narrow gauge to be vintage so new trams don't do anything for me.

Would like to see LGB or any of the other G scale manufacturers make a model of one of these railcars....
Just before LGB went belly up, they were to produce a 2 car LINT 41 DMU. I remember seeing it advertised on Dragon G Scale's website.
However, for the price it was advertised at, it possibly had printed on windows, like the LCE model.
I've often wondered if any were actually made and sold in Germany....

They are the ones, when i last went, they were working half half alongside the new ones! I wish LGB would make a model of the Dual Mode Nordhausen Tram/Train. It would give a fantastic excuse to buy a tram and not have the associated knitting.
It's funny how when I was a young lad, new and modern was the way to go. Now that I am an old lad, old and not necessarily decrepit is my choice.
What happened to the resin HSB railcar cab you were working on Alan?
I'd have like a HSB one but not the Lint Railcar as it would be the 1/26ish SG one so not much use for a HSB enthusiast as it would be the same size rather than gauge 3
