Swift lining

Waiting then, breath suitably baited!

All these Rob's & Bob's - it's getting confusing.
Anyway, a progress report on MY more than part-started Owain kit.
Talking of lining options, as the build progresses, the difference in level between tank and bunker become apparent:-

An early stage in tank assembly.

The situation as of this evening.
Two days, a few hours each. Only one burnt hand.

Yup! I've noticed they keep bob-ing up all over the place. :rolf::rolf::rolf:

Hi Rob G

Just to muddy the water a bit more
I really think it would be worth looking at the nearly finished but painted loco, before deciding on any lining.
Then the photo bucket guys could do some good make up
shots on a couple of pic's of it on your own line.
Just a thought

Yes, I'll probably have it in plain green for a little while.
At least giving the paint time to cure/harden.
I've found it's very easy to put fingerprints on the dry but soft finish!

I agree; it takes at least a week unless it's baked.

This is it, then. I gave the painted body a gentle bake in the oven.
Not wanting to melt the spec glazing, I chose an arbitrary 65º for 20mins.
Seems to have done quite well (!)

On the original subject of lining, this is the "blank canvas"

A simple two panel effect:-

I think this is favourite so far, bearing in mind Trimline has limitations with rounded corners.

Compressing the files for uploading has introduced a pattern of artifacts.
The idea of a single long panel has been abandoned due to the change in levels between tank and bunker.

What does one do on a rainy Sunday afternoon? Why, line a loco of course.
So 'tis done...

I'm reasonably happy with the result.
It's currently the smartest loco in the stud, until it gets into service.
