Dai waiting to fuel up.image.jpeg Rememberance Sunday.
Good morning folks. It's dark, dry and cool here in Northwest Leicestershire. I hope to be running trains at the CFR today. We will also be observing the two minutes silence at 11 o'clock.

Morning all, bright and aunny here in the Nits. Sods law that I cannot take much advantage of the weather as other things to do. Wanted to advance the Garden some.

Morning. A bit sunny down here. Trains out I think.
Through the glass - yesterday.

Morning!
Cool, damp, but quite sunny, once old yellow ball put in an appearance..
Today, the 11:00 from Brownhills West, becomes the 11:05.
We at the other end stand for the silence, whilst the punters in the café look on in bemusement.

Photographers tip: to avoid the annoying reflections from the glass hold the camera with the lens hard up against the glass, if your lens has a filter attached remove the filter first.
However if you are on the Glacier express in one of the scenic carriages, forget it. Pack your camera away and stare out of the windows - no, don't ask.

Afternoon all. Just back from the coalface, so I deserve 2 pints of tea. None of your highclass twiddley stuff either. Builders tea for me. Happy to report the sun is out in South Staffs.

Have been to church parade, and the to the Commonwealth War Grave in our churchyard, where we have, amongst the (possibly outnumbered) British airmen, memorials to Canadian, Australian, New Zealand airman, and a handful of German airmen. We also have on grave of an unknown Flying Officer.

Back to the garden this afternoon - the last big push ......................

....seems to have been going on for some time :think::think:

Kia Ora all.

Sorry been AWOL again lately, usual excuses - sigh.

But thought I better pop in today as most of NZ is awake in the middle of the night as we were shaken away by a major earthquake. 7.5 magnitude near Hamner Spring in the South Island.

Sure shook us, we're safe and fine but feeling lots of after shocks. Kids a bit nervous. There will be many affected though. It's the middle of the night so details sketchy and unreliable at this stage. (Though when as the news media been reliable!).

Edit - I change the magnitude to 7.5 as Geonet has just officially upgraded the size. There are also tsunami warnings for coastal NZ. Hmm not good.

Hi Honey, I'm home.... back from the town Remembrance Parade. Very well attended and the parade seemed very much longer than previous years, mainly due to a large number of youngsters in various scout and cadet units. Very few veterans these days.

But now, it's started shaking...........

We lost power for 3 hours. Road traffic gridlock on all the main roads around my place.... everyone heading for the hills, Tsumami warning issued. but we are (hopefully) out of the danger zone, if you believe the maps. No damage here.
She was a real doozie, I was dead to the world, and my wife woke me up, and she was halfway down the hall... not bad considering she can't walk at the moment (without a set of wheels). Lasted a good 40 seconds.

Hope you're calmer now in NZ.

Still shoveling earth - I ended up with a wee bit too much o_Oo_Oo_O

I shall have enough track to join the two ends, but probably won't have enough for the two other loops :(:(

May be on the lookout soon :cool:

Ah, belay that last order - I have been out with the tape measure :nod:

I reckon I may have just enough - which is a bit of a miracle in its own right, bearing in mind that all I did was go down to Soham and clear Terry out of all the track he was selling, to put with my own stuff. At that point, I couldn't tell precisely where the line was going to run, and I couldn't remember how much track I had anyway :D:D:D

S'looking good, and tantalisingly close - Have not moved all the soil, have opted for a couple of hillocks; might landscape them later :wasntme::wasntme::wasntme::wasntme:
