Strange Creature

Judging by the colour & furry bits it's some sort of moth ?

White Plume Moth?
http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=5547 See things like these quite often in my garden

Nah, it's a native. The caterpillars eat bindweed, which is good. Same they haven't demolished all the stuff at the back of my garden!

What a beautiful, and unusual, moth! It's wings look feathered, like a bird's.

One of my favourite Moths!! If you check out this page
http://ukmoths.org.uk/systematic.php#Pterophorinae < Link To http://ukmoths.org.uk/sys...hp#Pterophorinae
and scroll down to Pterophoridae you should come to a myriad of these fab moths, weird and wonderful they are too. We have run moth traps using Mercury Vapour lamps (they attract the moths to the trap which contains egg boxes for them to roost in till you sort them out and let 'em go!) in our garden over the years and its amazing the stuff you find in a morning, all this stuff goes on in your garden at night and you hardly ever see it!

At the back of our works is a strip of land that we let all the weeds grow as they like.
Last year we had quite a few Elephant Hawk Moth larvae on the Rosebay and we had
a few Humming Bird Moths at the Buddleia as well.
There are lots of others that I have'nt identified.

When ever I hear someone discussing moths (lovely creatures they are too), I cannot get out of my mind the wonderful Peter sellers:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001695/ < Link To Benjamin Ballon: Well, why not? It's my house. I've often been in that closet.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000634/ < Link To Clouseau: For what reason?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001695/ < Link To Benjamin Ballon: Last time was moths.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000634/ < Link To Clouseau: "Meuths"?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001695/ < Link To Benjamin Ballon: [very clearly[/i]] Moths!
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000634/ < Link To Clouseau: Yes, "meuths."
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001695/ < Link To Benjamin Ballon: Maria was complaining of "murths."
[frowns at himself[/i]]
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000634/ < Link To Clouseau: "Meurths"? Is that right, Maria, that - that you were complaining about these "meuths"?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0813961/ < Link To Maria Gambrelli: Yes, I did complain about moths.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000634/ < Link To Clouseau: Oh, you mean "meuths"!

:rofl::rofl:
