Still want a cheap video camera?

Thanks for the transcription Clive,
appears to be a very similar instruction set to the key-fob camera I used for my youtube vid.
I'm sure 7dayshop will respond to user enquiries if needed.
Of course and as usual with any imported product, there's a lot more 'stuff' than you need to know to use the piece of kit.

I am awaiting one for use on my bike.... following some of our local disused rail tracks.... seems I will have to wear a pair of operating theatre specs to set it though!

Regards
Rob

The buttons are a pain in the butt......my bear paws find them hard to push.
I don't mind though as it's a brill little cam.

I ordered one of these cameras a while ago but it was out of stock stupidly as i saw they where now in stock but mine had not arrived i had a delivery today of two.

Would any one out there like to buy the second one £20.00 i will cover UK postage ?

The camera I bought on eBay on the 10th arrived safely yesterday from China. I must say it seems very good for the £7 I paid (£6 of that was the postage!) Granted it's the cheaper plastic bodied model with firmware that doesn't let you hide the date & time, but a useful little toy all the same.

Mike/Spike,

That's very impressive.
I will have to get one of those.

B****r they are out of stock!
I hope Rob got commission on all those sales.

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago Graham and it turned up yesterday so must be back in stock now. I was dismayed to see one of the 'baby' cd/dvd's supplied with the instructions because I cannot use these with the slot drive on my Mac ? but in the event I did not need either instructions or software. I wandered around with the thing in my lapel, switched it off, and plugged it straight into my computer and it just worked with iPhoto. Quality of pic and sound excellent for such a tiny thing at such a tiny price. Here is a pic of it attached to my coal fired Edrig. I will do a movie as soon as I get the chance

PHEW! Glad to hear they are arriving now - felt pretty bad as I pointed them out in the first place.... Mine arrived today, and I don't care what anyone says, there's a lot of kit for the money. I found exactly the same as Tagorton - with XP everything just ran. Must say, with my failing eyesight the controls are small, but hey! that's what miniature means isn't it?
Gonna fit mine to my bike and film some of the disused railways around here.... my previously purchased keyfob cams are fine on the railway.

Hope you all enjoy the results - keep posting!!

Regards
Rob (still think it's funny that thie software on this site won't allow Aberyst-watch without the hyphon - guess why!!!)

Yeah, out of the box it mine worked as a USB mass storage device without any additional driver, on my Windows and Linux boxes. The driver and (windows) software only seems to be needed if you want to play with it as a web cam. You get drivers for "human interface device" (or something like that) for it to connect as a web cam, plus some very basic capture software.

Many thanks for passing on the instructions Clive ? I could not access the DVD on my machine. I figured out how to use it but have now stored these instructions.

I can just imagin Wod in a hooped jumper, mask and swagbag on his back :bigsmile:

If anyone wants a very nice media player with loads of features to go with this cam.
Try VLC Media Player......it's free and works real nice.

Deleted, superfluous!

Just had a quick play at removing the date/time from the video by cropping it using VirtualDub freeware program. Seems to work well, chopping off the bottom 30 lines of pixels seems to be enough (ie. reduce from 480 to 450).

Also VirtualDub seems to sort out whatever codec problem is preventing my old Vegas 4 software from opening the file for "proper" editing. It means I have to put the file from the camera through VirtualDub and create a modified copy, but this is something I can leave running for a while if necessary.

Now just need to wait for some decent weather to return so I can go and try it out on the Wild Strawberry Line!

Okay, so it fell off the back of a BMW, not a lorry! :rolf:

Funny how things go round in circles - only gave away my last BMW (2002 coupe) this week.... had it for 32 years but twas well past my ability to restore. Young 'panel beater' from local coastal town came and asked if he could buy it - tempting I thought, but what do you ask for a pile of rust. So when I was sure he was intending to do a good job I gave it to him.
Now was that Woderwick in disguise?... did I leave my new camera on the bonnet by mistake.... oh for a good set of eyes!
