Starting Again

Hi Everyone,
I joined this group with the express intention of selling off my LGB equipment that has not been used for at least 5 years. During my searching of my storage container I came across a power bogie and the Not quite a Ruston story began.
Now I need somewhere to run it so have laid some track and even bought a new wagon kit. I thought I could add something to the fence on the postage stamp that estate agents term an easily managed garden.
I marched off to B&Q and they are selling 2.4M lengths of pressure treated decking at £3.98 a length instead of over a fiver. 6 lengths were purchased along with some sawn and treated 2"x 1" for edge and some shelf brackets and following a couple of days of sawing the following emerged, complete with bank.

I would recommend decking as a good support as it is grooved so that with a few weep holes drilled it will become self draining.

Track will have fishplates cleaned and joined up with 'copper loss' tomorrow then its off to the storage unit to find the MTS gear so that my LGB track cleaning loco can get to work and trains will run soon.
Regards

Excellent, glad you are rebuilding not selling up. You may regret it in the future. I have sold some locos I wish I hadn't so unless essential you'v done the right thing.

Nice neat job too, I like the little catch fences/edges.

Good Show !!

nice to see you starting again, it dont have to be large to enjoy running a train or two.
well done.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you for your support and trains are running again (although not very far). The trusty track cleaner is out and about and the Ruston now runs smoothly. It has bi directional (red and white LEDs) so will have to make some rearrangements for DCC running.

The works train I am building gets an airing in the siding.

The Ruston waits for the strawberry crop to be ready for picking.
