Oh dear indeed! I think the "club amateurs" in the title says it all.... (yes, I know it's in French, but why pass up the chance of a joke at their expense?) ;)

I think I can see what he's tried to do - but why, oh why, the RED? A late-war German pattern of random red-oxide (red-brown, NOT pillar box scarlet) and dark green over a sand yellow base coat might have looked OK.

The indignities that poor little Stainzes have been subjected to over the years!

Edit: actually, reading it again, I see it's supposed to be a WW1 job, not WW2 as I first assumed; maybe he has pictorial reference for a prototype, stranger things have been built in war! Still not convinced about the red, though.....
 
Well obviously its painted in Camoflage with sandbags to protect the vital parts from small arms fire...... Probably inspired by Picasso and worth a fortune as an Objet d' art.
Just not sure what conflict it would fit into though..... I've seen a lot worse in real life.
