Hello
I recently purchased LGB 55029 decoder to retrofit my 27631 diesel locomotive. This locomotive comes with the 9 pin DCC interface. I used the adaptor board 55529 to connect to the 27 pin decoder. Decoder is working as expected but there no sound as I could not connect the speaker. The decoder comes with a speaker as it has sound but there is no place to connect to tiny speaker connector either on the locomotives main board or the decoder. The decoder comes with some kind of socket board that has a tiny port for the speaker but the socket board cannot be used in the current setup. It looks like the socket board would be used for soldering to the older locomotives

Anyways there are multiple two pin ports on the locomotive’s main board. Can any of these be used for a speaker ? In that case what kind of speaker would be appropriate? There is no mention of the connection details in the locomotives simple manual.

I attached a photo of the locomotive’s main board. IMG_6376.jpeg

Thanks.

I think there are a pair of solder pads on the 55529 adaptor board for the loudspeaker?

Hi Phil which pads would be used?
Any recommendations for the speaker. I can just cut the wires of the speaker that came with it and try to solder but the wires are just too thin

As you look at the adapter board, with the wires at the bottom coming towards you, there are a pair of pads bottom - right, which I believe are the speaker connections.

I would cut the existing connector from the speaker wire.
