Hi Has enyone fitted a Mosoth XLS sound decoder to this Loco, and what would be the most appropriate sound for it?

A small single-motor loco like this doesn't need the power capacity of an XLS - it'll do fine with a smaller (and much cheaper!) LS. The generic "small diesel loco" (KoF) sound file should be fine for a Schoema, so you'd need decoder number 8221100.
If the loco code number is 2060, remember it'll be an old pre-digital gearbox so you'll have to do some extra work isolating the motor and adding one or two new wires - not difficult once you figure out what you're doing, there are several articles in the forum archives that will help.

I would have thought that an XLS is a bit overkill for this, how about a LS instead and the 8221100 Small Diesel Loco (Kof) sounds?

Hi Thanks for that, at least like minds think alike, I have XLS?s in all my others but as you say an LS should do fine. The Schoema is my last loco without sound so appears a bit quiet going around.

I have an older Schoema, doesn't need sound with it's growler gearbox!
