I use Chat GPT 5.1 Thinking at the moment but I have a subscription to a provider that give me access to a whole range of bots. That's how I can play one against the other to check their answers.
I use Raspberry Pi as my central controller because it is actually a small PC on a single card, for microcontrollers I tend toward Picaxe a UK brand aimed at school kids so simple to use but have looked at Arduino. With the advent of AI for coding I am now able to make things that a few years ago would have been impossible for me to do. So that is a good side of AI from my perspective.
