now the summer is over and winter is just around the corner thought it was time to build a snow plough . it will compliment the one I have already made ,so now I can have a push and a pull .
I started off with a tender from one of my lil bashes, as in real life a lot of disused tenders were used .so earlier on I bought some more 80 plastic card from back2bay6 which is the cheapest I have found .

so when the grandkids came the other day we pretended that it was snowing. a good excuse for a test run .every thing seems to running ok .I learnt all my mistakes when I made the first one so this was pretty simple to make .
so here's to a lot of snow this winter ( ha ha) if anyone has built a plough lets see the pictures .

now gentlemen that is a snow shifter and a half ,does it run on it's own or with engines ? I would love to take that to pieces to see how it works even though something that big would not run on my railway .
weather forecast, in 2011 we had hot weather in October then followed by a really bad winter with lots of snow, 2013 we have had hot weather in October so does that mean the same again? .and the birds in the garden are eating for England .

Hi Graham
My rotary is a model that I made of a Denver & Rio Grande OY 3ft narrow gauge ,the steam plant inside only drove the front rotor and were pushed along by three K-36 loco's with a camp train pulled behind some great footage can be found on YouTube . Have used mine several times but have found that when the snow is too wet it clogs up , needs the dry snow for the Hoover fan to blow it out

It is not self propelled. Last used in 1964 on the Stampede Pass line in the Cascades it now sits at the NW Museum in Snoqualmie WA just outside Seattle.

We don't get much snow here so I'm thinking of a "salt trailer"..... Not that they were used in Australia.....
