Only one of each type.Yes Phil, my plan to have only one engine is going extremely well (not),
Then you can have the one in reserve.
And there's always one in a different colour scheme.

What I say to her is, I've never smoked a cigarette in 56 years, so I'm spending all the money I've saved....... however, this may be just as deadly as smoking 40 a day if she finds out exactly how much I've spent!Totally. Utterly normal. Tell her that you could have a REALLY expensive hobby, like booze, cars or fast wimmin, that'll help.
It helps if the Missus has a hobby too - mine does 1/12 dollshouses, so we both "get" what the other is into and neither can really grumble at the other's purchases!
Remember, however, that shoe and handbag shopping do not qualify as "hobbies", whatever they try to tell you....

Was that a load of your stuff that I saw at GRS on friday that they were still processing? Matt swore that he had seen the pair of us at loads of shows. Think he must be getting confused as our names are the same? When I started collecting LGB for the first time in the 1980s, I had just two locos - a U class 2-6-2 and an orange D10 KoF.... when I started collecting a second time, in the early Noughties, I again though I would never need more than half a dozen at most.
Well, I lost count when I reached fifty-plus (locos, not years - well past that!), which is why I'm now trying to thin the stable out just a little.....
After tonight, I have one fewer, but then I did buy a new one last week so I guess it's even!

That reminds me about the white horse that went into a bar, the barman said 'Cor, that's a coincidence, we've got a whiskey named after you'. The horse said 'What, Kevin?'

Poor guy, another Corbyn look alike! Yes I had a short rummage through the DR Stock, now if only that had been present in 1998 when I started collecting DR stuff! Noted that the Trainline45 Black Mallett in the collection was already sold.Matt may be confusing you with Stuart (who used to be on here as "Marshman"), the friend that I have been to many shows with in the past - you and he do not look totally dissimilar in many ways....
No, it wasn't my stuff - the only thing I have sold to them in recent years is the Kitson. They have taken a couple of big collections of HSB and DR stock in recently though, I had a good rummage through it last Thursday!
