OK this is a very keep it simple for me. As some of you may have noticed I am assembling (assembling, he calls it!!!!) a snowplough, it really is a joke. I have got the first ever of my own home-made wee men to put into it, but as you won't see anything below his neck he is only getting a cocktail stick for a body. He looks like the Mekon. OK hands up all of you who remember the Mekon!
To the point. I have a couple of loco lamp bodies into which I want to put lights. I don't want track pick up, so I am looking for a simple battery powered idea. I mean should I just use simple 6v DC screw in or bayonet bulbs, and stuff a battery into the thing with a switch. Or should I be using something like 4-5 volt LEDS?

as u will use it in a plow, it need weight.
so just try a simple lead-accu with 12 V, what makes most lamps go at average brightness.
can be filled up with a cheap loader or your car-battery loader.
provides quite some capacity for a handful of little lights.
