ive heard these are not the best in forgiving track issue.
love the look.
comments and wisdom please, if i were able to find one
Thanks for your good wishes, Steve. I'm now fine thanks, or as fine as I'll ever be. Wifey is still confined to a hospital bed, which is probably the best place for her at the moment.

As far as acquiring a Shay loco is concerned, I'll keep my eyes peeled for something suitable popping up, but will also keep a lookout for alternative logging type locos.
All the help and suggestions are much appreciated.

Here is the Accucraft 3 truck shay. Sorry about the dull lighting and the dust... It's been living behind my screen and needs a good clean anyway. :wasntme:

there was a chap in the Wiltshire area group of G scale that was trying to sell a Climax for, I think, about £250, a few months ago.
if that interests you, if you pm me, I will send you the details, it may have gone by now but I know he was trying for a long time to sell it
cheers
Dave

A good logging alternative in 1:24 that weighs a small stack of bricks, can pull the skin off a months worth of custard and as tough as nails is Hartland Locomotive Works - Big John.
It won't 'Bust like a Bachmann' and fairly short too.

Forgot that baby but have they not ceased trading? But likely 2nd hand ones worth hunting but bet they are as rare as hens too firs in UK.

Technically, it has been raining for a couple of hours.. In practical terms, you needed to see, hear, or be in it, in order to know.. :(

I just wish there was a little breeze..
Could do with a change of air in the house.. :sweating:

Gentlemen, you are both correct..

Could a Moderator, move my post to the Coffee Lounge, and perhaps tidy up after us?

:( :)

Yeah. I forgot to say that HLW are no longer producing, although they may be resurrected at some time when economically viable. Even harder to find is the earlier green 'Paul Bunyan' version with solid turned brass domes etc. I think I purchased the last one held in stock. >:)
