Work has commenced on the lighting system for the border station using Zenda depot's all-weather indoor workshop. The AnDel lights are very neat resin castings around a threaded 5mm brass rod. Although not shown, each is supplied with a grain of wheat bulb. Unhappily, the narrow brass tube is too small to fit a 3mm LED. A pity, as an LED would be so much better for long-term outdoor use. However, you can't win them all!
The border station's platform has been marked out to make sure lights are central on the platform and spaced apart evenly. The "station end" mark is to remind me later on which end gets connected to the power! The lights' threaded rods are very long: far too long for the space I have available above a solid wood base, so pretty substantial trimming is required.
