We ran this thread on G Scale Mad. Time me thinks for a repeat.
Tank engines run half thier life going backwards and on preserved lines so do most tender engines.
Here goes for starters.

You will need to either turn the engineer around, or find him a mate to watch the rear window:D

well, cab first
my solution - no driver - I rely on a radio control
in my experience the 3" drivers are stone deaf, have inflexible working practices and are totally unreliable [at least going by the performance of the one in my grandson's Stainz]

Not bunker first, but the driver looks the correct way. If you watch this Vid, you will see my big fat podgy digit turning his head slightly forwards o move him off. His head is attached to a connector that moves a DPDT to make the Loco? move backwards/forwards or stop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8jW...m look forwards on the run. Great fun. JonD

No piccies to hand, but I discovered that the LGB electric uncoupling ramps worked better for me with the loop on the loco and the hook on the stock, so its usually bunker first here !

Although there is a turning triangle on the LG&B, it is little used, and the local Preservation Society often run their Stainz Lok bunker first....

Does this count?
The red Cale has the Accucraft coupling removed and replaced by an LGB hook and loop, hence the head to head double heading.
