Roundhouse Sandy River accident victim

Too much of a good thing is nearly enough.

I have always had one of these on my 'wish list' but this one looks like it has taken a big tumble off the raised trackwork the photos show it operating on....and hit a big rock or two on the way down.
Still it may interest someone who wants a restoration job or a conversion donor if the reserve isnt too high.

Its also a tad old, running on 40mhz radio control

Cash On Collection... Hmmm

I know where you can get a Blue Sandy River set at 45mm with 2.4ghz radio control for less than £2k...... maybe you could sell something.. cough... william... cough to fund one?

I'm sure the parts to restore it wouldn't be too expensive if one was to check the prices out with Roundhouse first. Cash on Collection is a bit worrysome though.

Only slight distortion?:rolf:

Should be OK... but I would want to see it first; the wheels could of had a ding! plus the chassis could be twisted, leading to uneven wear. Alyn

the cab looks, to me, not that bad and possibly straightened with a firm hand and care
the description seems to indicae all is well
i would be mindful that while RH is superb at help and support, parts is parts, expensive and not always available

otoh, if it runs w/o wobble id be willing to to take the risk and understand you might need to spend a bit on parts-
fwiw, although i love the idea of a sprung chassis, even on my rough and tumble track the old unsprung version tracks really well, takes grades (on dry track) and even.....R1!
these are, imho, a great loco

if i could id bid on that one
