Roundhouse Cranks.

Hi All,

I am going to remove the cranks and conrods from a Roundhouse Bulldog. Just wondering if the screws that secure the cranks have to be secured with loctite or just done up hand tight when refitted.

Thanks Alan.

I've been looking at this thread of "Roundhouse Cranks" for several weeks, and often wondered if it was going anywhere.

I can contribute with the memory of an experience at the old, long ago demolished CPR Roundhouse at Ottawa West, during the late 50's.
There were several young rail "Fanatics" including me, that were known to sneak into the roundhouse, just to be with and view the locomotives serviced there. It was truly a Mecca of steam at the time...BUT
There was one problem.
On day shift there was one old cantaquerous foreman who wanted nothing to do with young loco spotters, or anyone that might have an interest in his shop.
We started to call him "The Old Crank"....
So this thread can cover more than one topic. The original seems to have become a dead end, so lets try for reports on similar occasions, along the lines of "The Old Crank"...possibly at a Shed, or Roundhouse...

In the UK we have a "comedy" couple called the Krankies, I and sure they were on at the Roundhouse theater (not that i would visit) so I assume it was the "Roundhouse Krankies"

Cranks is often a generic term used to describe Railway Enthusiasts. I remember it first being used in the Railway Modeller back in the 60's or 70's where they used to have a small cartoon each month. BellCrank being one of the characters.
