I know the owner quite well. He's managed to build a highly successful business by playing on the ebay and Facebook marketplaces and selling more stock than you might imagine. Over 400 items per week!I'm not sure their marketing technique is of the best.
Rather deal with that sort than the 'Rare', or over hyped type.He uses a technique where he comes across as slightly uninformed about what he's selling and letting the buyers assess the value.
Thanks for the clarification, Matt, but there seems to be no way to find out what he's got to sell.I know the owner quite well. He's managed to build a highly successful business by playing on the ebay and Facebook marketplaces and selling more stock than you might imagine. Over 400 items per week!

Having said which, just before midnight last night, he listed 18 of the locos on eBay with a postage figure quotedFrom what I gather he doesn't want to sell these mail order
Have to say not much in the line of bargains, however he is running a business.Having said which, just before midnight last night, he listed 18 of the locos on eBay with a postage figure quoted
Cheers
David!
As does every trader I have ever dealt withHe uses a technique where he comes across as slightly uninformed about what he's selling and letting the buyers assess the value.
Couple of interesting Garrets appeared as well. They appear to be posting these items on eBay, i've managed to pick up Blue and Cream Zillertalbahn bogie coach at a decent price from them today.
It's good to see some one being sensible about his businessI'm not here to defend Jason, but I can comment on how I've found him as a person. I exhibited at his inaugural model railway exhibition, sold him some stock and have bought bits from him when he was based in Grantham. My daughter also worked for him at his escape room business.
I've found him to be a genuine guy and he's trying to surround himself with knowledgeable people. One of his team is very good at repairs and they're getting better at understanding the stock they have.
He's good to his staff, pays promptly and does his best to run a good business. He's concentrating on the starter and low end of the business, with lots of old Hornby and Lima at pocket money prices, but he does get some interesting bits in as well, including 3.5" and 5" gauge from time to time.
I have to say, when you consider some of the people in this hobby with at times quite unreasonable expectations, that's very good going. It sounds like he learned from some of his early problems with stock not meeting customer expectations and now either prepares it a little better - or at least accurately describes it.My transaction was two years ago and as you can see from the attached image his feedback rating was close, but not 100%.
After eBay's unfounded accusation, but getting my money back, I did not leave negative feedback.
I did this on the premise, "Every dog is allowed one bite".
A final image, taken today, shows over 10,000 transactions, with probably a feedback rate marred by a single dissatisfied customer.
