Ride my little railway

I know this has been done many times before on much bigger layouts than mine but its still fun. Its my first effort and has much wrong with it such as camera not straight, aerial not high enough (signal breaks behind flower bed) and unintenional appearance of me and fleeting glimpse of SWMBO. However if you get bored over the holidays you might like to spend two minutes looking at

Very nice, Dumpy!
You've even got the neighbour's lawnmower providing "diesel sound effects" for part of it (was it pure co-incidence that your loco pulled away exactly as he restarted the mower halfway through...?).

A very good first effort. I can't even do that till I get some track down - maybe this summer......

Jon.

Well, I enjoyed it too - from what I would tell, you didn't move a muscle between the two shots !
What sort of camera did you use (that had an aerial ?)

Don't under sell yourself . Theres nowt wrong with that

Nice little ride....

Lovely stuff, very enjoyable

That's terrific, Dumps ! I have NO idea about using little video cameras like that - always thought they were for secret service wallahs.

Note to self - must move with the times

That was great. Did you use one of those 2.4ghz mini cameras? I've always thought of getting one and hooking it up to the tv and having some fun operating from an actual drivers point of view.

Thanks everyone. You have been more than generous in your comments. I didn't think it would be that interesting.
Well spotted Zerogee. I never heard the lawnmower - concentrating too hard.
As to trains running in sequence John - I run 3 trains at once using a passing loop and another block at the top end, all controlled with magnets under engines and reed switches under track.
The camera is a mini CCTV from Maplins blutacked to front of a diesel. Powered by a battery also blutacked to diesel, it sends a signal to my laptop via a video capture device.
After this I now feel inspired to have a better go.
