Request for help from australia Modellers..building material

When in the UK, I used Brandbright as a source of styrene, moulded sheets - about A3 size. Black, representing brick, tile, corry iron etc. As I can't find an Oz supplier of an equivalent, I'm paying expensive postage to have these shipped over. I have a mixture of 1/20, 1/24 and 1/26 scratch buildings - to give "depth" - so any scale would be OK. Making my own takes too long!

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks, Chris

Have you searched ebay?

Nothing on Ebay, but the link you sent looks VERY promising! Will check it out later - many thanks for your help. Chris

"Evergreen" supply stryene sheet is an assortment of profiles availaible at most good Hobby shops or eBay; http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=plastic+modeling+sheet&_from=R40|R40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xplastic+modeling+sheet+styrene&_nkw=plastic+modeling+sheet+styrene&_sacat=0

I've only just seen this thread , its only 2 years since I left Gosnells to move
over here to Tassy . But then every model ship in and around Perth carried
Evergreen styrene sheet in all sizes and thickness. The Perth branch of AMRA
Australian Model railway Association kept some in stock for sale They also
have 2 garden rail layouts onsite and members only too willing to help you
Later Ron.

Hi Chris,
One thing I find very limiting in g scale is the size of models in relation to the size of the product available, I.e., Evergreen and Plastruct products.

In NZ we have a company called Mulfords Plastics who sell styrene in sheets 1440mm X 760mm. This gives us the ability to take the sheet to an engraver who then engraves planks in a variety of sizes to suit our models. The styrene comes in .5, .75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0mm sizes. It glues with MEK and Tamiya glues.

My thought is there may be a comparable company over there. I find we use 2.0 for coach sides (with bracing) and 3.0 for wagon sides and bases.

Cheers
Henrik
