so the real instigation for this project is reading Nicolas trudgian's book a garden railway adventure and seeing his industrial locomotives in a scenic setting but the choice of livery comes from a 2ft gauge Brazilian limestone railway that still operates.

the reason for choosing this livery is it is so very distinctive some would say garish but i like it.

The model:

before first coat. bog standard locomotive apart form rc gear installed.

Red lining along the running plate and yellow safety paint on the footsteps and buckeye bars.

The livery is going to be similar to that in the photo.

tanks,cylinders and bodywork blue
motion,steps handrails yellow

i may add wasp stripes to the buffer beams and the back of the cab thoughts?

Well it's certainly an interesting livery! Keep posting your progress:thumbup:

Should make for an interesting loco, I would decide on the wasp stripes once you have done the blue and yellow work as it my make the loco too busy. What colour are you going to do the smoke box ? Keep us updated :thumbup::thumbup:

here is a better view of the florescent yellow valve gear showing the sand pipes and air pump.

Gerry- the smokebox will be staying silver
also the cyilnder covers are going to get the silver treatment.
you may notice the stripe of green on the saddle tank this is because ive got three pots of humbrol no.2 light green so i had a little test paint. i like it! it may end up looking like a triaing big big 0-6-0 though.....

waste not want not!.
