Today I managed to complete a circuit of roughly laid track of what, hopefully, will be the first stage of my new line.
It's seemed a long time coming but now its down I hope things will move more quickly from now on (weather permitting!).
It's just a figure of eight at the moment but as more of the garden is sorted out it will be extended.
Here's a few pics from today

The siding is where the line will be extended. The radius 1 curve by it will also be removed and replaced by another line heading up the garden.
The next job will be to landscape and plant out this area before it gets too cold.

great start keith, carnt wait to see it in da flesh!!

Thanks guys, I was starting to get jealous of the speed which you two were getting things done this summer; I thought I'd never actually make a start!

All visitors welcome, bring your own spade:bigsmile:

Good start Keith....

Looking very nice Keith keep up the good work
Rain has stopped work on my line :crying:

Nice one! I always like seeing a new line with a Stainz pottering about. Somehow it's just "right"! Good luck with the continuing construction work.

This afternoon, when the rain stopped, I was able to get in the garden and put some plants in. It's still a bit sparse but it's a start.
I also added a loop and a siding on the longest straight stretch (all 6' of it!)

This afternoon, as the weather brightened up I got my U class out for a trial run while I worked outside.
