REA 29400 motor/gearbox units plus 29106 - 4 driving wheels NOW ALL SOLD

Buy now for 0.01 GBP - Expired
Came across these in a box while looking for something else. I recall REA was taken over by Aristocraft some years ago. Bought them for a possible project which never materialised. New and unused motor and gearbox, which if my memory serves me correctly, is for the Rogers 2-4-2. I have two of these available at £25 each plus one set of 4 matching driving wheels still sealed in the packet (edit @ 16:23 on 23/11/19 pack just opened to ascertain measurements) for £15. Postage to UK only £3.IMG_20191121_134416 _2_.jpgIMG_20191121_135249 _2_.jpg

What is the diameter of the wheels at the tread?
I'll check later - they're at my mother's house. I'm guessing they weigh more than 100g in which case cheapest postage to your neck of the woods is £5.30 standard or £9.80 signed-for large letter should you be thinking about buying the wheels. The motor units are in the small parcel band which is extreeeemly expensive as you are no doubt aware.

Pretty certain they are for the Rogers 2-4-2.

The original C16 had an 8-wheel brick (I put one in a Buddy-L 2-6-2 which was later bought by someone on the forum).

Yes, they are definitely Rogers 2-4-2 motor/gearboxes. The wheels look similar too and should be approximately 45mm diameter if they are for the 2-4-2.

Just checked the measurements for you. As you suspected they are 45mm across the tread and 52mm across the outside edge of the rim. Two of the wheels (the ones with the longer con-rod locating lugs) have traction tyres the other two are plain with short lugs. I took the opportunity to check on the width of the whole moulding too. Including the inside boss for the axle, the wheels with the traction tyres come out at 25mm so they will not meet the criteria for large letter rates and have to be sent parcel post. Sorry to disappoint you.

Yeah, sorry, confused the 2 locos.

I have the exploded parts diagram for this loco if the buyer needs it, just email me.

Yeah, the later C16 had individual gearboxes and a belt drive - I could still be tempted by one, but would have to 'big up' the body to 1:20.3 :think::think::think:

All sold, pending formalities.
