Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn`t find it using search.

I want to programme an 8156601 decoder and I`m looking for advice on how to hook this up.  I`m using the Massoth PC interface to do the programming.

The attached schematic shows the 4 wires coming out of the decoder and the 4 pins on the underside (2 for K1 and 2 for K2).

Unfortunately, the manual isn`t totally specific on how to wire up the decoder for programming.  Based on past experience with older single channel decoders my assumption is I attach the 2 black wires to the PC Module, NOT the brown and black wires, but I`m not clear on what to do with the K1 and K2 pins.  The manual says "...both contact K1 and K2 need to be short circuited individually".  Can anyone please confirm that what I need to do is attach a couple of wires as shown in red to achieve this.  (Appreciate this may be obvious to many but I don`t want to risk damaging the decoder)

Thanks

Phil

Connect the track wires (black) to the programmer and the switching output wires (black/brown) to a point motor (for load).

The contact connections are not required for programming and are only needed if you want to trigger the point motor using buttons or track contacts.
