I'll have a guess it is some sort of Phase Locked Loop (PLL) Receiver looking at the part number(547-X062 TE-PLL-RX), interestingly a Google search using TE-PLL-RX throws up a link to Aristocraft models for sale. Over to the more experienced electronics people.
I had an Aristo pacific 20+ years ago with one of those in the tender and a couple of 14.4v batteries wired to it. It worked fine as a receiver. Didn't even have to remove the cover as there was plenty of room.
Aristocraft/Crest 27 mhz 10 channel 10 frequency receiver with a switch for pulsed vs linear power and the white 2 pin connector for a 12 volt cooling fan if drawing over 3 amp s (manual states 5 but Lewis said 3 amp at a show). 10 amps pulsed, 8 amps linear output.
