I'll have a guess it is some sort of Phase Locked Loop (PLL) Receiver looking at the part number(547-X062 TE-PLL-RX), interestingly a Google search using TE-PLL-RX throws up a link to Aristocraft models for sale.
Over to the more experienced electronics people.

Better guess than me, it does have battery connections on it. So just assuming it’s some sort of receiver for remote control

I think this will turn-out (no pun) to be a very early Train Engineer device? :nerd:

In the first-days of these things, there was some 'bad weed' about, in the design department, I reckon? o_O:wondering::giggle:

Greg?
Any ideas on this, or can you show the piccies to your man in the know?

I had an Aristo pacific 20+ years ago with one of those in the tender and a couple of 14.4v batteries wired to it. It worked fine as a receiver. Didn't even have to remove the cover as there was plenty of room.

Aristocraft/Crest 27 mhz 10 channel 10 frequency receiver with a switch for pulsed vs linear power and the white 2 pin connector for a 12 volt cooling fan if drawing over 3 amp s (manual states 5 but Lewis said 3 amp at a show). 10 amps pulsed, 8 amps linear output.
