Any tips please on the safe removal of transfers/decals/paint on the upper body part of my Playmobil loco. I want to fit new decals and not damage or discolour the original plastic . Playmobil 4010 red battery power bogie loco with pantograph

For transfers many say that brake fluid works well, but I have never tried it. But for paint gentle attack with white spirit could work fine providing the base colour is coloured plastic.

Thankyou for prompt reply. I know from bitter experience that brake fluid works very well on removing car paint, I will try a bit on the inside of the body shell to see if it affects the coloured plastic, and I think I have some white spirit tucked away somewhere. I also found two different types of "sticky stuff" label remover spray, I will try some of that.

Thank you for the information, I don't have an LGB track cleaning rubber, but I am am sure I can find a pencil rubber, that sounds very innocuous

T Cut is a good starting point and then a cotton wool bud and cellulose thinners, gently applied. Another way is to use a glass fibre pen.

Whilst Playmobil, and LGB, plastics are pretty robust..
Always check in a concealed area first..

Good advice on any plastic. I've found PM less affected by excessive exposure to cellulose thinners than LBG, but this may depend on age.

The LGB one has a very fine grit pad on it.

It is very different to a pencil eraser....
