I have removed the original RC gear from my Playmobil 5258, as I am going to 'proper' RC control. This would be ideal to add RC with sound and light to a similar locomotive or indeed a bigger diesel/railcar.
Anyone not familiar with the system; it has 6 speeds, 3 forward and 3 reverse with directional 'prototypical' german lighting, red both ends stationary and 2 red to the 'rear' and 3 white to the 'front' depending on direction. The lights are switchable, and it also has switchable sound with a 'horn' button.
Complete system including battery box (runs on 6AA batteries or equiv.) speaker, both PCB's (these carry the lights and receiver gear, they stand up inside the very ends of the loco although a dab hand could easily remote mount the LEDs) and the controller.
Has a pair of diodes fitted to the motor output to reduce the running speed slightly for a more realistic low speed.
Would also be ideal to repair a damaged 5258, or spare controller, whichever.
