PIKO BR50

And here we go - first run.

I installed DCC - it was an easy task, remove mainboard, connect 8 wires that connects mainboard to other boards to a decoder and job done. I opted for OEM Piko sound decoder with relevant sound profile. It shipped with speaker too, so plug and play. a reed contact is also included to sync sound better - but i have not installed it yet. That's a bit more challenging task.

Generally happy with a purchase, PIKO of course feels a little bit more flimsy than LGB, but for money and size it is an excellent purchase. It is 90cm long, a big beast.

I have the 2-10-2 tank, just be aware that some of the detail is delicate and needs handling with care. Mine has been converted to battery ooeration, easy job.

Yeah mate, PIKO is far less robust than LGB is, I have noticed it too.

I also have a bag with extra detailing pieces that i decided not to install so far, until I'll have a way to drive locos from storage to line. Which won't happens on this layout anyways.

But at a price point - I am satisfied - loco without dcc come at 9 hundred quids, dcc shit - extra 180 (oem PIKO sound decoder), for that quality and size sounds very reasonable.
