Pigeons, deterring same...

my suggestion would be this, get yourself a small compressor like the ones for air brushes, then plumb in a series of lines around the garden with valves that operate via an electrical switch, then operate these valves to release a jet of air, the noise of the air escaping should scare them if the jet is at good pressure, you then have the option of positioning the jets near the areas the pigeons wander and can operate your system from the comfort of your house.

A catapult would be my weapon of choice in a built up area ,the type used for firing ground bait ,I was considering obtaining one but a local Sparrowhawk did the job for me :D

I have the perfect method of pigeon removal but I get into trouble when I post pictures.......................................

I think we know exactly what you mean Paul - Bang!

No pigeons here. My problems are a) kookaburras waking me up too early b) even worse, magpies in the mating season who sing all night - yes, that surprised me that they are nocturnal too - or perhaps they're singing because theyare having such a good time? nature is a funny old thing.....

Seriously, the idea of a compressor blowing air isn't daft. Our "reticulation" system (garden irrigation) when it comes on each day scares birds, the cat, the dog, and joeys.... :D :D
