PH Hobbies S3002S soundcard wiring?

I've just acquired a PH Hobbies S3002S steam soundcard on eBay and it's arrived without any documentation or connectors. I've contacted the seller but so far had no response and so trawled the web but not found anything about this specific card. There's something on Greg E's website about a different model with a different range of connectors so for now am stumped.

Can anyone assist (please)?

Inspector Clueso, best educated guesswork.....:mm:

Power in connector, multi meter required, should be able to fathom out which pair is track voltage IN, by tracing from the 4 Diode Bridge Rectifier, to the Voltage Regulator, from this POS and NEG will be discovered.

The two 14 pin 74HC IC's, reference the number and Google search will identify the POS and NEG pins on the IC, will confirm correct link back to the Voltage regulator, plus should be able to trace the NEG to the 6 pin connector for the Reed Triggers.

From there should be able to trace the POS and NEG for the Pot for the volume control.

Following-on:

I think the 'JP1' 4-pin, will be two for power, and two for motor (to give a variable for chuff).. :nerd::wondering:

Very, thanks.

I've identified the pin which seems to connect to the negative rail on the board. I'm wondering if the diode bridge might be for the motor input to provide a voltage level for the chuffs - unless it uses a chuff cam ..... ??

I wondered if the two pin connector was for the speaker and the tree pin for volume??

As you say, the others must be triggers for whistle etc

I wonder what that large capacitor is for... Or is it a battery ??

The large blue object is a battery either a NiCd or NiMh, I had one years ago for an electronics project I used in my car back in the 1980s, from memory it was a NiCd.
The ridges are where each cell is I think I counted 6 ridges so most likely 7.2V.

So, do you think that would that be for when the card is installed in a track powered loco to keep the sounds running when it's stationary?

PS I didn't get one with mine
PPS The seller says he can't find the wiring diagram or instructions. I can't complain. The card only cost me a fiver.

Heard back from the seller - he's unearthed the wiring diagram - or enough to get me sorted out.
