Peckforton Light Railway in the Snow

We had a light dusting of snow last night so I did a short operating session and bagged a bit of video to mark the occasion. Would have filmed more but had to go out and when I returned it was raining .......!! :-[

Hope you like it....

Lovely video, just the right amount of snow to make it look very atmospheric, thanks for posting :)

Brilliant - look great

The other two have said it all, although I will add that the chuff effect on the passenger train is very realistic and nicely added to the scene.

MyLocoSound soundcard. I've just invested in one of Peter's newer cards and aim to install that in either the saddle tank or the Barclay.

Great video

The Leek and Manifold coach is looking good :D
Thanks for noticing. The other two are on the way - just reached the primer stage. Will post some piccies when they're beginning to look a bit more respectable.

Nice!..
So,
The snow on the ground was real, but that 'falling' was an effect??

A lovely film, so atmospheric :D

That' right. It's not the most sophisticated effect but in VideoStudio there are quite a few parameters which can be changed. You might notice that when the loco passes in the second scene that I tried to make the flakes appear to be affected but the slipstream and flurry about more randomly. In the final clip I got the flakes to increase in size and then fade away, figuring that they would be less apparent, the nearer they were to the camera. I probably need to keep working on them - as it's really a 'rain' effect, it's not so easy to get the shape.
