Where should i install the dcc psxx-ar circuit board? Is it okay to install at the command station(nce) and run the output to the reverse loop. The command station is about 40 feet from the loop.

Good thought but I imagine he was concerned about the 40 ft length or wiring to be installed. This! Keep the PSXX-AR undercover with your other DCC components and run wires to the lopp track.
Agree, I ran all mine in small size electrical conduit the type with a removable lid, makes changes easier than using tube for cables. I still use the conduit for my Air for pneumatic signals and points, recently got used to run Cat 5 cable for the CCTV system to the house to replace a dud radio system.Run the wiring in something..
This will give it a little mechanical protection, but more importantly, protect from UV damage to the outer of the cable.
PhilP.
I can confirm the thought that has gone into Martyn's line with many boxes and conduit pre installed before track laid. Fortunately (I guess) he will have some spare former track power wires due to going Battery Power.Like others, I would endorse using weatherproof enclosures combined with flexible conduit, to provide protection from weather, wildlife and UV. I have a lot of cables and so have several boxes situated around the garden, as nodes for signals, points, track power, lighting etc.
