Not a 7/8ths Scale Disaster Movie!

Not a disaster movie - but only because I had briefly stopped filming when a
gust of wind blew the sublects of my recent Garden Rail articles off the track
over a 2ft drop! That's two locomotives and all my 7/8ths rolling stock, plummeting to the earth.
Well I say plummeting, but it seemed to me like slow motion - and amazingly
there was not even a scratch. It did take us ten minutes to find Millie's dome
among the ivy though.....

So this week's film is double headed 7/8ths on Roy Wood's HWLR. It is on my
website news page, where there are various other snippets of news including a
Chuffer for the K-36 and info about scans of the first two Garden Rail articles,
by kind permission of Atlantic Publishers.

You can see it at:

and on my Youtube Summerlandsteam channel as usual. And here is a pre-disaster
photo for those not inclined to videos.
Cheers

Brilliant video and a great web site

Just fantastic!! I assume they are not RC, so how do you get that lovely slow run... and if they are RC, who's driving while your filming?

Thanks Steve - glad you enjoyed it:)

And thanks Coggesrailway - you are right, they are not R/C and are both very docile, controllable locos. It is almost easier to get the two running slowly as the one behind just has the regulator cracked open enough to prevent a stall. The other thing is that I get about ten minutes of video to make a three minute film, so you don't see all the express train shots:D

Great railway. Nicely done videos. I see that the inspector made his/her visit just as you were about to close things up. If I ever decide to do live steam, I'll be sure to contact you first.

Thanks Dan and Casey!

Dan - when you get into steam, there is loads of expertise on this group and I would be happy to help.

In the meantime, here is another photo from the filming day:
