After attending the Llangollen show we headed to Porthmadog for a holiday. We visited a number of railways including the Welsh Highland, Talyllyn, Fairbourne and Corris Railways. We also managed to walk across the Barmouth Bridge. Most days we let "the train take the strain" as the daily rover ticket was good value. 2023-05-15 15.48.57.jpg

I am long overdue a trip to Wales, spect it will be a while now I have Poppy unless I rent a cottage that allows dogs.

That shouldn't be hard to find, there's a lot out there.
When I was even younger than I ma now, we went on a family holiday to North Wales, in the locale of the narrow gauge railways. I spent all my pocket money buying post cards of the railways. I'm sure I've still got the scrap book somewhere. I could probably date the year by the fact that the loop on the Ffestiniog had just been completed.

Smashing photos Martin, thanks for posting.

Mizzy and I are planning to be in Wales for the W&L Gala in Sept. We hope to visit the VoR and possibly the FR too whilst we are there....

Marvellous, and to think it was all done in sunshine!!!! I'm amazed! I've also filed all your marvellous pics - did you know that there is a FB page for the WHR #130 locomotive? Your superb shots would be gratefully received there, I'm sure.

Hi Tac,
Thanks for your comments. I don't use FB and am happy for you to post them there.

We were certainly most fortunate with the weather. We often use Porthmadog as a base as it offers really good communication links.

Regards

Martin
