Nordlingen steam Festival (Plandampf)

Great set of photos Jon. My only question is - where are all the people? The place looks almost deserted.

Nordlingen Station was pretty quiet sort pf place. The Planfampf was not like the sort of thing we get over here say when the Sctsman runs. I also try where I can to get pictures without too many people in them, the interest for me is the Trains. However the Museum was pretty bust on Saturday and Sunday.

Mind you, it still doesn't really explain the state of the newly laid track. To me the geometry is wrong, in particular the point giving access to the sidings seems not to have been laid in the right place.
I think that this could be that the Photo was taken with some Telephoto, this has the effect of confusing the view a little.

The trains is still sitting there with its lights on. The "track closed" sign isn't there yet. I would say this was taken right after the event, before service crews arrived. 200k damage to the train as well. The line stayed open, dual track with only 1 train/hour.
