Welcome to the forum, have a look at my links of my build. Lots of different techniques used to give you some ideas. Also if you can get a hold of some articles by Bernard Déluard in France. Built a superb Garden Railway based heavily on a French 2nd class Railway.

I’m also new to this site and DCC.
Not new to G Scale going back a few years
