New LGB Catalogue

surprised they couldn't even get the prototype pictures ready for the GE II

The LGB Ge 4/4 II that was done for the initial ACPE prototype project ACPE purposes is not quite the actual paint scheme which will be applied by RhB... so they are waiting to see what the actual RhB paint job looks like.

I was fairly underwhelmed with the release for Autumn - surprised they couldn't even get the prototype pictures ready for the GE II. I can't say there is much on my list from this release - unfortunately.
I got the full 2024 cat at GRS when I went the other month and that was pretty underwhelming as well.

Yeah i got the 2024 and summer catalogue from our local supplier , they threw in a free magazine with it "depesche" thought it was much more interesting.

And here's the prototype loco, fresh from the paint shop....

That MOB style Pullman type livery looks superb, if only BR had gone so classy in the days when the dismal blue and grey with arrows of indecision livery was created much as monsters are created.

That is a fantastic looking loco , now how do I get my wife to understand that saving for one of these is a much more sensible use of our money than the battery backup power system we are currently saving for? Perhaps I should at least wait for a few more weeks to pass before I mention it, seeing we just lost power for 6th time this year and it was out for a day and a half this time.

BR corporate blue came about in the mid 60s - a different world, a brave new world indeed, and plenty of style choices from way back then are considered rather passe now :nerd::nerd:

This new release recalls the many original LGB productions of the 0-6-6-0 in fanciful liveries, eg as the “Orient Express” etc. This release is based on a real life, to-be working/running example!

OH Dear ! If they printed some east German 80s graffiti on a train it would be a better this rubbish artists work ! Homer Simpson meets the flintstones !! if you considering buying this, buy the gray plain one and I will do you some stickers for the side you can peel off later ! 1829 EUROS !

One does have to wonder who would pay not short of 2k for such a monstrosity? But it could be a real livery at some stage since the wall came down but I do wonder…..

There looks to be to much Cream around the top of the model as the gold stripe runs around the front handrails, also no grey band around the bottom, sorry to be picky !!!
