:D:D:D Well it cost me this month's pension but I'd only spend it on wild women (if I could find any) and booze.
Anyway it arrived today from Glendale and its been running round my small garden very happily. Am dead chuffed and had to share it with somebody and there's only sheep round here.

Very nice dumpy, can we get a review soon, I have been eying since marklin anounced it.

I don't know about a review but am happy to share my experiences when I have got some. (Of engines that is).
In the meantime I have discovered a socket in the back which the very skimpy manual describes as multipurpose! No indication as to voltage. Would I be right in assuming it will be the track voltage - in my case 20volts and presumably DC. I can of course check it out but just thought I'd ask.

i call mine the "Terminater" as it simply never stops, its rentless, it just keeps going ..

iit most likely track voltage. I have also noticed that the user's manual produced by Marklin-LGB are nothing like those LGB owner are used to get before Marklin.
Is the fit and finish as good as it looks from the pictures?

Brilliant loco if ever i have cash again its top of my list

Great loco dumpy.
Does it have a soundcard? If not I can recommend the Massoth one.
BTW watch out for the v small, vulnerable valve wheel(red) around the mid point below the running board. If the loco should come off the track it will probably snap off. Mine did - twice, and I am still looking for it after the second time. :impatient:

Sound Card!!!!!!!!! Its taken me all the time to get money for this + bog standard decoder. However thanks for the tip re valve wheel. Haven't noticed it yet but will have a look. Only had one crash so far and that due to flowers growing as I look at them. My wife's department so touch them at your peril.

Very nice loco.
The socket is at track voltage. You can feed it into coach lighting etc.

A lovely loco, in any of the versions - mine ( a green one I bought new in about 2005) was the first sound-equipped loco I bought and it started me on the long process of sound-chipping everything else in the loco stable. The Sachsen is a beautifully hypnotic thing to watch, with all that wonderful motion at work.

A great choice, enjoy it lots!

Jon: you are making me drool, I so badly want to get one. It does not even have to have sound.
