Sorry i've not been around much. Was away racing last weekend (new personal best time for the Cadillac...yay!), and then onto a week of nights (booo!).

On the plus side, I've now sold the RV as well, so ill be ploughing on with the garden / conservatory / railway in the next coupla weeks.

Bad news...the bloke that was havin the RV has now decided he doesnt want it (this is after pi$$ing me about for a week). Ho hum. Oh well...life goes on.

Good news: Got a bit more done today, and the railway has now officially made it to the shed. Cut the hole in the side and everything. Pics tomorrow, cause its started raining now :wits:
 
looking good, but sit back and chill, run a train or 10,, and think .. before you start on tother side.. best sticking with the same curves, then everything will go everwere!!:thumbup:

Havent got a fat lot done on the railroad...but at least the garden is very nearly done and ready for turf. Im now toying with the idea of selling all my G, and moving to British outline O.

Talk me out of it for gods sake, cause I cant make my mind up.

Of course my other option is to buy myself a gauge 1 class 50 and a rake of mk1 bangers, for special occasions hehe
 
Yep I keep looking at those. I did see one of their class 50's that someone had built, but I wasnt impressed. To be fair, I dont think it had been done to a very high standard, which didnt do it any favours.

Having said that, I have also seen one of their 'tractors' built as 37408, and that was simply stunning.
 
It'll give you something to do over the winter! And if you do, take your time, you may be surprised with the outcome.
I've always loved the 50's, was shown around one at Bodmin many years ago. It had been rescued from scrap and had had alot of internal damage after kids had got in. They had just started it for the first time, and even though a little work was still to be done she was still stunning.
 
That would be 50042 then. Theyve done a damned fine job of it.
I spent most of the 90's working on 50031/35/44 on spare weekends. Not had the time for it for years now mind. I kinda miss getting my hands dirty, but just recenty ive got involved with one of the preserved 37's, so thats redressing the balance a bit!

6 months since I posted....ouch. Nice shiny new forum I see. What else did I miss.

Youll all be glad to know that I decided not to sell the G scale in the end. Although its looking a little neglected and sorry for itself, its all still here. I've had a load of other stuff going on in life, but I should now have the time to carry on with it. Who knows...this year I might even get it running properly.
 
Haha I see you kept the place nice and tidy while I was away. Good show!
This is the kind of weather when I wish i'd got it finished last year. I could be out there meddling now :(

Im kinda glad I didnt as well to be honest. It'll be a lot of graft to get it up and running, but I just cant get over the fact that it looks really cool running round the garden.

Been out and done a bit more weeding today. Removed a couple of planks that had warped, looked at how to re-align it so i didnt have to reuse them. With a bit o luck i might have something running on Sunday, at least to keep me entertained while I crack on with the rest of it.
