My First Video - Train Running on 'Howarth's Railroad'

Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time before I was tempted to do a video. Forgive the fact that it's my first attempt, and I'm using a cheapy 'budget' camera.

I need your comments, no matter how hard, (I'm tough - I can take it) as if I don't listen and learn, Hollywood will never call!!!

Nice railway - impressive loco - did ALL that sound (whistle) come from the loco or did you add it?

Hi Mick. It's fitted with a Pheonix PB Sound System with authentic 'Mallet' sounds (or so the manufacturer claims) - I have to admit that the whistle is a cracker, although nobody sleeps in my neighbourhood when it's operating.

For a 'first effort' it is infinitely better than most YouTube movies:

So, what have done right that most do wrong.

Well you have actually edited the movie so that there is a change of scenes. On the train, off the train, front view, rear view.

Methinks that once you might have been making movies with a clockwork camera and editing with scissors.

Also a nice basic title instead of one of those provided by the video editing software.

Very good. I just hope others take note of the basics you have got right.

Good editing from a cheap camera will always trump no editing from a wizz bang camera.
