Hi all,

here are some pix of my first tests for a "easy-to make" numbering and naming of my locos and rolling stock.

CCRR stands for Cat Canyon RailRoad, the 411 is a code, means that the loco has 4 coupled axles (4xx) has one running axle in front (x1x) and is the second of possible ten locos like that (the 1st on is the 410).

The lettering is laser-printed on uv-resistant, weatherproof, selfadhesive foil.
I choose a layout that shall look like an aluminium-cast-sign, black painted and then grinded. the silver shining of the aluminum was impossible to make on the paper, but it should be good enough...for me...:D

Today "she" got a little run with a working train, now ready lettered.

The Number in the lamp as well as the detailed informations on bottom of the cab and tender were added.
Im not THAT satisfied, seems the "silver shine" of aluminium needs to become more dark, it looks quite white, even though it IS definetly grey.
And the letters themselves need to have some kind of other script.
I am sure to be able to make it even more detailed, perhaps with some lite-spots from the pins with what the signs would be fixed prototypically.

What i am VERY satisfied till now are the signs regarding how well they stay and stick. No sign of track of EVERY handling with loco and tender. No self-unsticking. For more: they stick VERY well! Removing the sign will make a problem as far as i can see now.

But for now it is DONE (whats important for me....: closing working-projects)
and when my others are ready, too, then i will try to change the detailed lettering.
The other locos -for sure- will get "updated" versions.

What comes out better than i thought is the logo. I like it very much.

Some clips of the working train with my new canyon (the Cat Canyon) will follow on youtube.

Greetings

Frank
