Hope you get one - they're a bit hard to find. When you do get one. try and make sure it's been modified correctly. If it hasn't been, there's a good chance the main board will burn out (expensive!) If you are in the UK, then Rob Lewis is the MTH/Lionel mechanic at Tennents Trains in Halesowen, Birmingham, and could do this for you. Alternatively, you could have a go yourself (it's not too difficult) and rayman4449 gives the full instructions. I've just been on his site (rayman4449.dynip.com) but couldn't get on his modifications page. However if you Google Big Boy-mylargescale.com-Forums, then in one of his replies is his web address and if you click on this, his modification page does come up. Scroll down until you come to MTH engines and click on Big Boy.
Problems which need to be sorted are as follows:
1. The motor diode needs to be electrically isolated from the frame.
2. The firebox lights have the potential to short out on the frame.
3. The loco can develop a burned out power transfer trace on the rear power transfer board located under the rear engine - the fix for this is listed under "Engine shutting down intermittently/Power pick-up problems, etc
Rayman explains how to solve all of these problems and is a very helpful guy. Best of luck.
