Enjoyed the LGB prototype locos topic so here is a sort of continuation. Please feel free to join in.
I don't own any photos of the locos I have models of but there are photos on the web. My Alco S4

Blech, the "Chessie" scheme of my childhood, ugly then, ugly now.

BUT!

The GP30s have stood the test of time with CSXT, with many still in service as "slugs". Prime mover removed, coupled to another loco, often used for local or switching service. Still neat to see them around here.

I have several C&O and B&O orginal paint GP30s in H0, so I am a fan. It is interesting to see the progression of paint, as several photos of the same unit (B&O 6908) shows over time:

B&M GP7 -

Whoops he model appears to have the wrong tanks on the roof http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture?id=1088389

Yes, the model has dynamic brakes, which the B&M GP7's didn't. However, B&M's GP9s did, so you could renumber it if you are keen on accuracy. :D

...and and skirts, and long hood doors, and battery box lids...it would easier to remove "the blister" and paint it? Actually, it looks as if it may come off from the photos, in HO, the makers often gave you both roofs as an option.

An excellent thread, and a nice roster of US outline diesels!

Dynamics were optional on the GP7, so you could get away with it.
The horns are in the wrong place.
Plus it would look better in blue :nerd:
